According to multiple news outlets and the Sacramento County Sheriff's office, Glenn Alejandrino, a middle school teacher at Arden Middle School has been arrested on multiple counts of molesting students. Arden Middle School is a part of the San Juan Unified School district.

Apparently, Alejandrino transferred to the school in 2014, formerly teaching at Cowan Elementary School in Sacramento. According to news outlets, Alejandrino has been released on bail, and according to the Sacramento County Courts website, he has retained counsel, and has a next court date of September 15, 2022 at 8:30 am in Department 62, located inside the Main Jail. Further information on his criminal matter can be found here: https://services.saccourt.ca.gov/PublicCaseAccess/Criminal/SearchByCaseNumber       The Case Number is 22FE011003.

A couple of brief points:

-- This appears to be a case with multiple victims, which in the civil realm, makes the culpability of the Arden Middle School, and the San Juan Unified School district, all the more strong. The School has a duty to supervise, and the school district can be held vicariously liable for the failure to supervise, and anytime there are multiple victims of one teacher over a period of years, it is very compelling evidence that the school was not adequately supervising.

-- These claims and the underlying lawsuit protect the victims identity. The victim does not have to go public in order to pursue their claim.

-- The Public Records Act can be used to request all personnel files of Glenn Alejandrino prior to any complaint being filed in court.

-- A claim for damages can be brought immediately, the victims do not have to wait for the long criminal process to end before they can seek financial compensation.

-- Victims can pursue injunctive relief as well in these matters, it is not solely about money, they can request changes are made to school district policies to ensure these horrific things do not happen in the future to other children.

-- Attorney Michael Rehm recently represented a similar matter obtaining a seven figure settlement for his client, prior to litigation.
