Cameron Park attracts families who want to avoid the population density of Sacramento or its larger suburbs. Cameron Park Lake is a popular spot for family picnics and fishing, while Cameron Park Country Club offers one of the most difficult golfing challenges in Northern California.
By California standards, the 30-mile drive from Sacramento to Cameron Park is not a particularly long commute. The suburb offers housing opportunities that range from ranch-size properties to comfortable neighborhoods.
A unique Cameron Park neighborhood offers wide streets that residents use to taxi their private aircraft from their homes to the adjacent airport. Residents who do not have the luxury of commuting by air usually take Highway 50 to Sacramento.
Cameron Park Traffic Accidents
Midair collisions are rare. Unfortunately, collisions on Highway 50 are a regular occurrence. One recent example involved a van and a car that crashed while they were passing through Cameron Park on Highway 50. Five passengers were injured.
California's Office of Traffic Safety does not segregate accident statistics for unincorporated communities like Cameron Park. However, OTS has shared quite a bit of information about El Dorado County.
Of the 58 counties in California, El Dorado County has the 48th highest accident rate after adjusting for population and miles driven. The county had 984 traffic accident victims in the most recent year analyzed by OTS.
In that same year, only 18 traffic accident victims in El Dorado County were pedestrians. Based on that statistic, OTS found that only two California counties had a better pedestrian accident rate than El Dorado County.
The county's bicycle accident rate is almost as favorable. El Dorado County's 18 traffic accidents that injured or killed bicyclists resulted in an OTS ranking of 45 out of 58, meaning only 13 California counties had a lower rate of bicycle injury accidents.
Cameron Park Motorcycle Accidents
While pedestrians and bicycle riders are not high on the list of traffic accident victims in El Dorado County, motorcyclists are not so fortunate. According to the OTS, 134 of the county's 984 traffic accident victims were riding motorcycles when the crash occurred.
El Dorado County had the 11th highest rate of motorcycle accidents in the OTS analysis of California's 58 counties. That statistic is particularly concerning, given that motorcycle accidents often result in spinal damage, traumatic brain injuries, and fatalities.
Cameron Park Traffic Accident Lawsuits
Whether a collision occurs on Highway 50 or on a local street in Cameron Park, Attorney Michael Rehm can help accident victims recover their losses.
Cameron Park motor vehicle accident cases are heard in the El Dorado County Superior Court. A judge at the Cameron Park Courthouse at 3321 Cameron Park Drive will probably preside over the lawsuit. In the most recent year for which statistics have been released, 115 new motor vehicle accident lawsuits were filed in El Dorado County.
Of the 99 motor vehicle accident lawsuits that were resolved in that same year, only one case went to trial. The rest were settled. About 86% of motor vehicle accident lawsuits filed in El Dorado County are resolved within two years.
