Accident Attorney Patterson CA

MICHAEL REHM - (209) 490-5049

Known as the Apricot Capital of the World, Patterson's annual Apricot Fiesta brings people together for beauty pageants, art exhibitions, fireworks, and food (not just apricots!).  The city maintains a rural, small town feel despite its steady population growth.

Interstate 5 and State Route 33 carry the bulk of the traffic to and from Patterson. Unfortunately, traffic accidents occur on city streets as well as those highways.

Patterson Traffic Accidents

The most recent traffic injury data for California cities is from 2019. In that year, Patterson had forty-six traffic injuries that caused an injury or death.

The Office of Traffic Safety ranked traffic accident injury rates in 103 California cities of comparable size. After adjusting for population and miles driven, the OTS determined that Patterson had the 26th highest rate of accident injuries among the 103 cities.

Only one Patterson accident injury involved a motorcycle rider. That number was about average for a city of Patterson's size in 2019.

Hit-and-run drivers caused six Patterson accident injuries. The OTS found that Patterson had the 10th highest rate of hit-and-run injury accidents among 103 comparable cities.

Patterson Pedestrian and Bicycle Accidents

Three Patterson traffic accidents involved injuries to pedestrians. The OTS ranked Patterson 59th of 103 cities in its pedestrian accident rate. One of the injury victims was under the age of sixteen and one was over the age of sixty-five.

Bicyclists were injured in three Patterson traffic accidents. Patterson was ranked as the 33rd worst city for bicycle accidents among 103 similar California cities. One of the three victims was under the age of fifteen.

Causes of Patterson Traffic Accidents

Alcohol was a factor in four Patterson traffic accidents. Patterson's ratio of alcohol-involved accidents to total accidents is about average for a city of its size.

Speed was a factor in ten Patterson traffic accidents. Patterson's speed-related accident statistics are higher than average. The OTS determined that Patterson had the 20th highest rate of speed-related accidents among 103 comparable cities.

Distracted driving is always a leading cause of accidents, including driving while operating a mobile device. The OTS does not calculate the number of accidents in each city that can be attributed to distracted driving.
