A ten mile stretch of Cal-99 connects Yuba City to the agricultural community of Live Oak. Like Yuba City, Live Oak has a diverse population and a welcoming environment. Residents praise the community's quiet neighborhoods.
Yuba City Traffic Accidents
While there is much to like about Yuba City, its frequent traffic accidents do not make the list. The Office of Traffic Statistics ranks California cities of similar size based on their rate of traffic accident injuries. In its most recent analysis, after adjusting for population and miles driven, the OTS determined that Yuba City had the ninth highest rate of injuries and deaths from traffic accidents in a group of 102 comparable cities.
Yuba City's 401 traffic accident victims included 21 pedestrians and 16 bicyclists. Yuba city ranked 43rd in the category of pedestrian accidents and 42nd in the category of bicycle accidents.

Yuba City had the 14th highest rate of alcohol-related injuries and the third highest rate of injuries caused by speeders.
Live Oak Traffic Accidents

Most Live Oak collisions involved two cars. One accident victim was riding a motorcycle. Two were pedestrians. Live Oak did not report any bicycle accidents.

Of the 75 comparable cites, Live Oak had the fourth highest rate of speed-related injuries. Nine of the 38 injuries were caused by speeding.
Yuba City and Live Oak Traffic Accident Injury Lawsuits
Yuba City and Live Oak are in Sutter County. Attorney Michael Rehm will file lawsuits against negligent drivers in Sutter County Superior Court when insurance companies refuse to settle the injury claims we make on behalf of clients who are injured in those cities.
Sutter County has five judges, but only one judge is assigned to motor vehicle accident cases. Those cases are heard at the Sutter County Courthouse, located at 1175 Civic Center Boulevard in Yuba City.
In the most recent fiscal year for which statistics have been released, 67 motor vehicle accident lawsuits were filed in Sutter County. In the same year, 72 motor vehicle accident lawsuits were resolved. Four of the resolved cases went to trial while the other 68 settled before trial.
